Two priceless items for families whose kitchens converted to online classrooms overnight in March 2020. Thousands of students shifted to school at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and many didn’t have the technology necessary to make the adjustment smooth.
While North West Redwater Partnership (NWR) couldn’t help much with patience, we did have a stack of retired laptops and iPads after a recent upgrade to new technology.
Enter: IS Department.
The team quickly cleared and cleaned dozens of old surplus devices to create Google Classroom heaven for students and virtual connections to isolated loved ones for families.
NWR coordinated the laptop and iPad handoff as a small gesture to help support our employees with families manage new schedules, tag team added duties, and perhaps find a little hidden patience throughout this pandemic.
